Perfect Medicine

Rocky road, or double fudge ripple, or mocha with chocolate flake crumbled over top.  Add some fudge sauce… the hard fudge sauce with the bourbon; the perfect medicine.  She piled all three choices in a bowl and set about devouring it.  She told herself it was her reward for surviving the day when she’d thought surely she would die… die and leave so much unsaid.  Abby shook her head to clear it.  No, she wasn’t going to think about it.  So she ate the chocolate… knowing it wouldn’t fill the empty pit in her belly that Connor’s denial had left.
