Fic Updates and some stuff

Published Chapter 21 of 'Forever', and then wrote my little birthday fic for prehistoriccat (she can't read it till Sunday, *sad*).  Am now about 300ish words int the next chap of 'Hold My Silence.'

You know... been thinking.  Might seriously consider trying to write 'for real.'  I have always wanted to be a writer, but I have long convinced myself that:

1. People don't read books anymore
2. People certainly don't read the genres I prefer (sci-fi, fantasy, urban fantasy especially)
3. I don't know how to begin getting published
4. I'm too old to start now
5. I'm just not a good enough writer, and I'm being delusional and unrealistic and stupid to think I might be.
6. See reasons 1-5 about 50 more times.

I did start a novel, but trashed it.  From what I hear, that is to be expected.  I think now that I have exercised my writing abilities again, I might just maybe try again.  I think I've got my voice and POV nailed now.  I've got a brief niggle of an idea, and just maybe.... ah. 

I know, writing for fanfic is so NOT the same, but it's kinda my dream to write *blushes*  I know that, but (thanks to fanfic.net and LJ) I have read some authors here that rival published ones for their abilities.  So.  Hmm. Maybe?
