Well I am taking way longer to write than I normally do, but I am finally about 1.3K into chapter 4 of 'Hold My Silence.' The writing is tough for multiple reasons:
- I'm not at home and I'm working (away from a computer) 12 hours a day
- The story was meant to end at chapter 3 so I wrapped it a bit more (and prettier) than I would have
- I started it in Abby's POV exclusively, and it's not a super easy thing for me to continue to write only in her voice. See... I like being in Connor's head. A lot.
- It's just a tough story to write. I'm keeping the action in the background, and it is just... challenging.
- I keep thinking of Alice/Hatter and worrying about leaving that fic all by itself for so long. Keep wondering if I should have just waited on Primeval land until I got back.
- Research! I feel like a paleontologist...
Ok. Enough. Man, I'd sure like to be home. I want a non-microwaved meal. I want my bed. I want my son Magnus' slobbery baby kisses and I miss my certifiably insane husband. Shh. Don't tell him. He'll get the wrong idea and start thinking I have feelings. Ew.
heh. Ok, I'm gonna try and write a bit more before I have to go to bed. Early morning. I get to spend all day out in the desert sun inspecting AGE equipment and the folks that maintain it. *sigh*
